Ultrasound Results!

Here is a picture of between the baby’s legs, and if you can’t tell exactly what you are looking at…..

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT’S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The funny thing is, I knew all along.  I don’t know how, I just knew.  I even wore blue eyeliner to the appointment in celebration.  If anyone asked me what I thought it was, I always said it was a girl though.  Sorry for lying to everyone, I was just playing reverse psychologist so that I wouldn’t jinx the situation.  I really did want a boy, but never said so out loud.  Another girl would have fit into our family perfectly, but oh how I yearned for a little tiny baby boy.

Here is his little profile:

As far as the health of our little guy, he is PERFECT.  50th percentile on everything.  I told my doctor that I thought he wiggled a lot, and she agreed that he is a very active baby, constantly moving.  The girls are both happy because they wanted a brother, and of course Neil is wearing a permanent smile today.

Happy happy, joy joy!!!

Knobs!

Aren’t they pretty?  I have been wanting to add some knobs to the kitchen and finally got around to doing it.

It cost less than 40 dollars and took less than 20 minutes to install them all.  Anyway, I am excited about it as you can tell.

It has been a slow news month around here (the only thing fun to report is the cool new knobs).  I guess I could also mention that the knobs are a part of my major “nesting” phase that is going on at the moment.  I have been doing lots of random cleaning and home improvement chores.  I cleaned out my craft closet, the tupperware cabinet, cleaned under the sink, dusted my planter shelves (never been done before, no kidding), touch-up painted all the walls, etc.  I have also been looking at paint colors because the drab-ness of my house is really bugging me.

Bethany and Julia both were sick this month as well.  Julia kept saying her stomach hurt one day and then she barfed all over the place.  We thought that she looked better after she puked, so we figured it was just a one-time festival of chunks.  Wrong!  At 10pm that night she woke up in a big pile of puke.  It was all over her face and in her hair!!  It was so gross.  Needless to say, I spent the next several hours and the entire next day washing linens.  The good news is that she felt better after that.  Poor Bethany was sick for a week straight though.  She had a yucky virus (that she has had twice before) that gives her just about every uncomfortable symptom that there is, plus it makes her mouth break out in ulcers so she can’t eat.  She was also coughing like crazy and breaking out in itchy hives at night.  She had an ugly cold sore on her lip too.  Fun stuff!  They are both healthy and happy now though.

And Julia is a Sunbeam now!  That’s crazy!  Where’d my babies go?  Oh right, there’s one in the oven and we get to find out the gender on January 31st!

McCall

After church on Sunday, we packed up and headed to Mccall for some fun and relaxation.  The first thing the girls wanted to do was set up their beds.  They got these little beds for Christmas from Grandma and have been dying to use them.  There were real beds available to sleep in, but obviously they chose the floor.

We did lots of swimming!  We also played in the snow (but not for very long, it was extremely cold up there).  We played ping-pong, played pool, watched movies, and had lots of good food.

Funniest picture ever:

Doesn’t Neil look extra handsome in a beanie?   I think so.
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for making this trip possible!

Goodbye 2010

After an exciting morning with my sister at the hospital, I came home to take a nap.  Just watching her in labor made me tired.  (The whole time I was witnessing the birth of Keaton I was thinking, “oh crap, I have to do this in six months.  Noooooooo!  Dont wanna!  I changed my mind!”)  So anyway, to end the year, we packed up the munchkins and went to Subway for dinner and then headed to a Steelheads game.  We got to watch the game in a suite, so that was pretty cool.

After that, we went home and put the girls to bed and had friends over for some celebrating.  We had munchies and miscellaneous bubbly drinks in fancy cups.

We also played Texas Holdem, where I wished that we were playing for real money because I won.  😉

Here’s to a great 2010 and an even greater 2011!
