Other than a few lumpy/cracky fondant issues, I guess it’s not too bad.

Catching Up

Whew!  The months of August and September have been kicking my butt.  I try not to say the word “busy” that much because I think it’s a word that gets over-used and also gets used as an excuse most of the time.  Dang though, I have been busy!  🙂  Watching kids, planning baby showers, taking pictures, making goodies, taking care of my family.  And honestly this blog won’t be very long because I have things to do.  Basically the only things to report about at my house are that Bethany really enjoys school and Julia is going through a cranky/whiny phase that I hope passes soon.
Just thought I’d share a few pics that I took of Bethany last night, she was helping me by being my model for a Relief Society thing.  I was trying to find a good place to take pictures.

These chalkboard speech bubbles seem like the cool thing to do nowadays.  Bethany didn’t quite understand the concept though and wouldn’t hold it correctly, but I think they will be a lot of fun to have.

Another cool thing to do I guess is to shoot right into the sun.  I’m still on the fence about the whole idea, but it does give a neat effect.

I actually ended up having to take the pictures inside anyway because it got dark.  But I’m still thankful for my beautiful model.

Julia’s Party

Little Julia’s party was held on Sunday.  After church she would not stop asking me when people were going to show up.  Patience is hard for a little tiny cute girl.  Her party theme was Jewels, due to the fact that she is Julia…and part of the reason we named her that is because it sounds like Jewels.  If that makes sense.

Not everyone realized that the jewels on the table and cake were edible, I made them with my sweet new jewel molds.

I went with the gift bag piniata again.  I don’t think I’ll ever go back to the paper mache’ way of making one, this way is just too easy and just as effective.

Cake!  Sorry dear family, for the yucky fondant.  I am trying different brands of it and this one was totally awful.  And it was an incredible pain to work with.

Her party was also the last family gathering before Uncle Kevin goes on his mission to Chicago.  It was the last time most of us will see him.   The girls absolutely love Kevin (and so do we of course) and he will be missed for the 2 years he is gone.  A lot of us said our goodbyes and it was really sweet.

THANK YOU THANK YOU everyone for helping us celebrate with miss Julia and coming to her party.  We love you!

Ward Campout

On Friday we packed up and headed to Cascade for a quick campout with our ward.  It was at camp e-da-how, where Neil has been many times.  There is an obstacle course which was tons of fun for all of the kids.

One of the obstacles, and pics of Bethany climbing it.

I did the obstacle course too.  It was scary.  And I pulled a muscle.

Neil cooked the hamburgers and they were delicious.  Good job babe.

This was the first time that Julia has ever slept in a regular bed.  She usually wants to sleep in her travel crib but she said that she didn’t want to this time.  She did great and stayed in bed all night.  Beth is on the upper level and Julia is on the bottom.

A whole bunch of “A” kids!

This was after we took the girls and Tyler fishing in the lake.  They were fishing with poles that they made out of sticks and rope (like Bethany is holding).  Needless to say, they didn’t catch anything.  🙂

Thanks ward!  We had a great time like usual!
