Thanksgiving 2009

We started our annual day of giving thanks and gorging ourselves at Grandad and Fonda’s.  We started at 11:00.  The girls love Grandad’s house!  I didn’t bring my camera in, so I had to steal some pics off Dad’s blog.  Here are the girls and Cam playing with some of Grandad’s custom made blocks.  Cam is covered in stickers, and Bethany later decided to do the same…then we had to rip them off and she had big red blotches on her face because they were REALLY sticky!

Dinner was awesome dad, thanks!  We then headed 4 miles down the road to Neil’s parents.  Isn’t this the longest table setting ever?

All Julia wanted to eat was vegetables, I guess that’s ok with me.

Neil telling his fish story…we all went around the room and told a story about a pet experience.  Neil seemed to have more stories than anyone and thought he was pretty cool.

“Aw man, that was such a good story,” he’s thinking…

Yes, I make fun of Neil quite often.  He likes it.
We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  We are so very grateful for our families and love you very much!

Thanksgiving at Mom’s

We had an early Thanksgiving dinner at Mom’s while Becky and Klayton were in town. YUM YUM!!  There aren’t a ton of pictures, it was hard for me to find a picture where someone wasn’t showing an inappropriate finger…that’s my side of the family for you!

Chuck e Cheese

We went yesterday to the place where a kid can be a kid to celebrate McKinlee’s birthday.  We had 100 tokens to spend, and we spent them well!  That place has changed a lot since I have been there last, it’s been years.  It was way fun for the girls.

Cinderella

My blog has been nothing but cake lately!  We haven’t been up to anything around here anyway.  So here is a Cinderella cake that I made for my sweet neice McKinlee for her third birthday.  The cake is vanilla covered in buttercream, and her dress is rice krispy covered with fondant.

I covered her with a shimmery (edible) powder, you can see it if you look closely.  Don’t look TOO closely though, or you will see that her boob somehow got smashed and looks completely unnatural, haha.

Happy birthday McKinlee!  It was a pleasure to get to do your birthday cake.

Spongecake

Oohhhhhhh…

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
Spongebob Squarepants!
Absorbent and yellow and porous is he.
Spongebob Squarepants!
If nautical nonsense be something you wish,
Spongebob Squarepants!
Then drop on the deck and flop like a fish!

I’m not kidding, I have had that song stuck in my head the entire time I was working on this guy!  Spongebob is a funny dude and I was happy to make him in cake form.

Halloween 2009

The Halloween celebration began on Friday, with our annual ward Trunk-or-treat.  We took the girls in their costumes and had some donuts, and then they went around to all the trunks for their treats.  I only took three pictures because I was busy handing out candy, but here are the girls in our trunk when they were done.

I was dressed up like Sherlock Holmes, but nobody bothered to tell me that my hat was completely sideways and I looked like a total goon, so there aren’t any pictures of Sherlock Nerd, haha.

On Halloween night, the little ones got dressed up again and were excited to go trick-or-treating.  I gave Snow White some pink rosy cheeks and lips, plus I put mascara on her.  Holy cow that girl has some gorgeous eyelashes, look at those things!

Strawberry shortcake was looking adorable too.

Daddy took the girls out with a big group of friends, I stayed home because I love handing out candy.

They had so much fun.  The best part is coming home and dumping all the loot on the floor!
