Oh, Boy . . .

In case you didn’t know, we did find out this wee one is going to be sporting blue.  Should you doubt, I’d gladly show you the ultrasounds . . . if it’s a girl, there is something seriously wrong.  It’s been a bit over a month since the ultrasound–we were so grateful to find that everything looks good (he even appears to have five fingers on a hand!)  I think Cregg was breathing a sigh of relief in conjunction with his excitement for the news.  You see, Cregg is the only son of an only son of an only son (yes, three generations . . . and, seriously, how many Poteets do you know??!  We wanted to be sure to perpetuate the family name!)  However, Cregg then realized we now have to raise the son!

Another thing I will take as a grateful sign that this little boy is hopefully healthy and growing is that he kicks ALL THE TIME.  I first felt movement about 14 weeks, but by 20, he never stopped moving.  And he can kick HARD.  I don’t remember feeling that much wiggling that early with Evie . . . and my, is she a handful herself.  At first, I tried to ignore the magnitude and frequency of the kicks because I’m hoping this little guy is a bit more mellow than my oh-so-lovable little drama queen.  *sigh*  But that may not be.  Oh well, I can handle active so long as there’s maybe a little less . . . tears.  But at any length, it’s worth every bit of crying and drama for all the fun and sweetness Evie brings to us.  We’ll take another!
