Creepy Craft

Filed under: General — Krista @ 4:05 pm

Today I got together with some friends and we had a little craft party.  It was so much fun, and just what I have been needing!  Thank you Jo and Kim!

We made little block letters for Halloween decoration.  I’m really wishing Halloween was closer because I want to display mine – they turned out so cute!!  As with all the projects I do, I had really high hopes for this one.  Unlike a lot of my craft projects, this one really materialized and turned out great!  It must have been the inspiring company I was with?

First we took a 10 foot 2×4 and cut it up into pieces.  I am using the term ‘we’ very loosely here.  Jo did that part before we even got together.  Next we sanded each block to smooth the rough edges.

Then we painted our blocks of wood black.

Then we cut paper to the size of each block and mod podged it to the wood.

Ooooh, next came time to cut out the letters to go on the blocks.  Kim has this awesome little machine that cuts letters out of paper.  Add one to my Christmas list!!  Here it is in all it’s glory.

The kids were pretty good for most of the time.  We sent them outside and they found some dirt.  That kept them entertained for a nice long time.

After the letters were on and glue had dried, we tied ribbon around the blocks.  Here is the finished product.  Aren’t they cute!?!
