Bee Happy

Posted in General at 2:10 pm by jess

I bought this chair last weekend at the local craft fair:

october-517

Cute right? We needed a new “Time out” spot for Harm, I saw this and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to channel his “determination” into a bright HAPPY spot…
Day 1: Not so much!

october-513

Day 2: He’s getting use to it. At least now he knows what it’s for. When I have to drag him screaming to his new spot he says to me “TO BEEEEEE HAPPY MOM BEEEE HAPPY!”

october-527

All in a days work.
Then there’s this one, constantly BEEing Happy. That’s the name of his game.

Blessings

Posted in General at 9:37 pm by jess

Today we blessed little baby Cache. I cannot begin to tell you all what a blessing he is in our lives. Every morning he greets me with one of his famous smiles and my heart MELTS, every time!

Ben did a great job and we were lucky enough to have Cache’s Great Grandparents (Eames and Harman) here.

Grandpa Tim and Grandma Cari are sooooo good to us! Cache is very much in love with them both.

And just for a minute I would like to tell each of my awesome siblings especially my brother in law Curt and sister in law Jerica how much they mean to me and my little family. This weekend we were able to all hang out. We started yesterday at Ivie and Maddy’s volleyball tournaments, we had lunch together, Grandma played with all three of her Grand kids, then she took us all out for ice cream. The girls went shopping, while the boys and Ivie and Maddy held down the fort here at the house. It was so much fun to all be together, seriously the best weekend ever. Today they all pitched in and helped with everything and as we speak my boys are back on the farm and enjoying every minute! I really don’t deserve them. They are AMAZING, WONDERFUL PEOPLE and I love them ALL! (Even the one with the scruffy harvest beard that we can’t WAIT for him to shave!)

A little piece of Heaven

Posted in General at 8:27 am by jess

Last week Ben and I had the opportunity to take a little trip with the office I work with. This year was the 150 year anniversary of the American Dental Association. To celebrate they held the annual session in Hawaii! We enjoyed 6 wonderful days on Oahu or what I have deemed a little piece of Heaven! I cannot begin to tell you how much fun we had. Most nights we came back to our hotel exhausted from our days excursions. Here are a few of the highlights!
My first Hawaiian Lei. It smelled so good I didn’t want to take off!

The Dole Plantation:

Turtle Bay & Sharks Cove on the North Shore:

I didn’t want to leave Sharks Cove! I went snorkeling for the first time (successfully anyway) It was a blast and there were a TON of fish to see.
img_3669

Sunset Beach: I could have stayed here, and been a very happy person here FOR-EV-ER!

All the girls from the office:

I seriously wanted to cry when it was dark and we had to drive back to Waikiki!

Chinaman’s Hat and Hanauma Bay on Ben’s Birthday:

The boys going out to see the Moray Eel at Hanauma Bay I was happy to stay on the reef where all the “boring” fish were!

Blow Hole:

One night the ADA had a HUGE birthday celebration. It was in downtown Waikiki, they invited the Polynesian Cultural Center to come and put on their show for us. They set up just like the PCC. We got to learn how to hula, make leis, hats, Ben got to play the drums (video to come soon) we got tattoos and of course the fire show! It was awesome!

The whole office after the show:

The next little adventure was HUGE for me. Dr. Hamblin is a big time fisherman. He invited us to go late night (9:00pm-1:00am) shark fishing with him! I was VERY reluctant at first which loosely translates into I WAS SCARED OUT OF MY PANTS. First to be on a boat in the middle of the ocean in the DARK and second because well I have a healthy fear of sharks in general. I had spent the last 5 days successfully avoiding them and now I was willingly in a boat HUNTING them, sooooo beasty! Check out the hooks and that reel:

img_3711

We did indeed catch 1 Grey reef shark while we were out. Which in my opinion was plenty but Dr. Hamblin was way disappointed we didn’t get a tiger shark. Anyway I will post the video of the bad boy soon as the pictures we took do NOT do him justice or turn out because it was dark. I was doing just fine until they had to bring him ON THE DECK to try and get the hook out of his gills…seriously WHO DOES THIS?!!!!!!! Anyway once we got him back in the water all safe and sound
they let us do some deep sea fishing. I have to show you the pictures of Ben and our friend Greg smiling first:

These smiles did NOT last long…soon they were doing this:

Then this:

Dr. Hamblin and I felt really bad…But we were catching Red Snapper like it was nobody’s business.

img_3726

They even fried them up for use right there on the boat! They were really tasty! Needless to say the smell made things worse for poor Ben and Greg. So in the end I had a blast and Ben learned NEVER to leave the shore with out dramamine again!

The Sunday we flew out we drove up to Punch Bowl National Cemetery.

It was bittersweet when we had to leave. We were sad to have it all come to an end BUT we were dying to see our boys again! They were very well taken care of on the farm spoiled comes to mind! Thanks everyone who made it all possible!
